We began as a Property and Casualty Insurance Agency whose roots date back to 1905. For more than seventy years, our corporate focus was geared almost entirely toward Property and Casualty insurance with a steadfast commitment to provide personal and commercial lines access and expertise.

Over the last three decades, the insurance industry evolved in several new directions, and so has Selman & Company. Since 1980, our business has expanded through the acquisition of companies specializing in marketing and administration of Life and Health insurance products to associations, affinity organizations and financial institutions. During this time, we have acquired firms from Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, California and Ohio, administering insurance to customers in all fifty states.

John L. Selman, our Chairman, set the direction of the firm, orchestrated all six of our acquisitions and developed our management team, from 1980 through 2000. At that time, he stepped back from the day-to-day operations of the company to focus on strategic initiatives and pursue further external growth strategies. David L. Selman, previously responsible for sales, account management and marketing, assumed his new role as President on January 1st, 2001, the third consecutive generation to take responsibility for this increasingly prosperous and diverse enterprise.

We remain committed to delivering a full range of insurance products through an efficient, effective distribution system to associations, affinity organizations and financial institutions. Our strength and leadership as an insurance administrator with national reach has been widely recognized, and our partner insurance companies have contracted with us to provide policy administration on their behalf.
